What will happen at my first appointment?

I will start with filling out a record card with your personal information and all medical history. From here we will discuss a treatment plan relating to your requirements and I will carry out treatment in the remaining time. Once the treatment is completed, we can discuss aftercare and I can answer any questions you may have. Please allow an hour for your first appointment and 30-45 minutes thereafter.

Why do I need a record card and what happens to the information?

The information collected on the record card is important for me to make the best possible treatment plan for your personal needs and it is also a requirement by law for insurance purposes. All information collected and discussed remains strictly confidential between the patient and myself. The type of information I will take is your name, address, date of birth, contact numbers, medical history along with anything else that could be relevant to the treatment.

Tell me how you maintain high standards of Infection control

The safety, hygiene of my patients is of utmost importance to me. Great emphasis is placed on clinical cleanliness. Guidelines set out by the British Association of Foot Health Professionals are strictly followed. Before treatment commences feet are cleansed with antiseptic, with aseptic work techniques used during treatment. All instruments are cleaned and disinfected in an ultrasonic bath then sterilised in an autoclave. The instruments then remain sterile in a vacuum sealed pouch until they are opened during treatment so there can be no risk of cross infection or contamination.

How much will my appointment cost?

New patient appointments are charged at £65 and all follow up appointments at £50 – PROVIDING THEY ARE BOOKED WITHIN 12 WEEKS OF THE PREVIOUS. Please allow 45-75 minutes for the initial appointment and 45-60 minutes for follow up appointments. There will be an additional charge for home visit depending on the location and travel time.
